Watch Hawaii government meetings
Where to watch the Legislature, the four county councils, and the statewide boards, live and archived.
Video confirmed for 16 of the 17 bodies we track, up from 10. A Tier B reconciliation pass on 2026-08-16 found channels for five bodies this page had recorded as having none, and split a sixth into a live route that exists and an archive that is promised and unlocated. Only the Hawaiian Homes Commission is still recorded as having no confirmed video. Bodies with no confirmed channel are listed as unconfirmed rather than left off the page, and nothing is listed until its channel has been checked.
The jump from 10 to 16 is a finding about this page, not about Hawaii. None of those six bodies started streaming in the last week. Five of them publish video somewhere this page had not looked, which for three of them meant inside a PDF of the minutes.

Both are reachable from the Legislature's Live and on-demand video page, which also links Olelo Community Television.
Read the archive description carefully. The Legislature's own page describes each Olelo Granicus archive as an "On demand video archive of selected House committee hearing and floor sessions (2016-2020)", and the same wording for the Senate. Selected, not complete, and the stated range ends in 2020. Anything after that is on YouTube, and what survives there is whatever the chambers chose to keep. There is no single complete video record of the Hawaii Legislature that we have found.

Hawaii County is the only council here that publishes a stated archive depth on the face of its video portal: Council video from 2015 to current.
Maui is the only council that runs three video and record systems at once, and which one holds the meeting you want depends on whether it was a committee meeting or a full council meeting. That is not obvious from either portal.

Two rows on this table said "Not established" until 2026-08-16 and were wrong. Both the Land Use Commission and the Public Utilities Commission publish to YouTube and link it from their own sites. Recorded here rather than quietly fixed, because a "not established" that is actually a miss is the failure this page exists to avoid.

This whole section was rewritten on 2026-08-16, and it was the worst section on the page. All four planning commissions were listed as "Not established" and the section was headlined as the sharpest gap in the market. Every one of the four has video.
For the Honolulu Planning Commission, live access has two routes and the archive is promised but unlocated: those are different failures and this page had merged them into one wrong answer. For the three Maui County commissions there was no gap at all, only a place we had not looked, because the recordings are attached to the minutes rather than published on a video page.
The remaining gap is narrower and more specific than "planning commissions." It is the Honolulu Planning Commission's archive, promised on every notice and located nowhere. Land use decisions are among the most contested in Hawaii, so an unlocated recording for the body that hears them on Oahu is still worth naming.
Two Maui County traps worth knowing. The county's own Agenda Center carries a Media column for these commissions and no row in it holds a video link, so following the county's published video route gets you nothing. And Akaku is a community media organization rather than a county system, so its coverage depth is not something the county guarantees. How far back Akaku's coverage runs is not established.

Bodies appear more than once where they run more than one platform.
Most of these entries were added on 2026-08-16 during the Tier B reconciliation pass: two YouTube channels for state commissions, three more via Akaku, the Honolulu Planning Commission's WebEx, and the Maui County commissions' Teams meetings and county-hosted recordings. The count of platforms went up by two; the count of bodies reachable on them went up by five.
One of those rows is a different kind of channel and should not be read as a portal. The recordings attached to the Maui County planning commissions' minutes are individual files hyperlinked from a PDF, in numbered chapters, not a browsable archive. You reach them by opening the minutes for the meeting you want.
There is no dominant vendor in Hawaii. That is the opposite of what a mainland metro looks like, where one Granicus or Legistar family tends to cover most of a region. Here the Legislature runs a custom state system, Honolulu runs one stack, Maui County runs several across its council and its three planning commissions, Hawaii County and Kauai run Granicus, and each state board runs whatever it chose. Learning to read one portal gets you one body.
Community media is doing work the counties are not. Three of the sixteen bodies with confirmed video are reachable in full only through Akaku Maui Community Media, and Olelo carries the Honolulu City Council on channel 54. Neither is a government system, and neither owes anyone an archive. That is worth stating plainly on a page whose whole purpose is telling you where the record is.

Hawaii County and Kauai planning commissions, county boards of water supply, the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation board, the Hawaii Tourism Authority board, the Mauna Kea Stewardship and Oversight Authority, and the rest of the state's boards and commissions. If you want a specific body added, that is the list we work from.
